Custom Software Development:
- Developed an ASP.NET portal system (Learning
Sciences and Technology Repository) utilizing C# on top of SQL
Server and funded by a grant from Microsoft. This application
served as a central repository/portal for funding sources, organizations,
projects and researchers involved with learning science and technology
endeavors.
- Produced an ASP.NET portal system (Advanced
Placement Digital Library) utilizing C# on top of SQL Server.
APDL serves as a reservoir of resources where teachers and students
can educate themselves about BPC concepts, at their own pace,
at a time and place of their choosing, and take individualized
knowledge-building paths based on interest and needs.
- Researched and designed an automated interface
between SAP and Primavera Enterprise 2.0 using SQL Server Data
Transformation Services and custom Visual Basic 6.0 COM objects.
This allowed scheduling of plant (oil and gas) maintenance to
be tracked using their preferred systems of choice.
- Designed and implemented a Web-based personalization
application for a major oil & gas company using ASP and COM
objects with an Oracle database as the back-end. This allowed
the company to create a customizable “My Company” intranet where
department and regional information could be disseminated to employees.
- Implemented a Web-based mortgage system for
a local Houston reseller using Perl CGI scripts with a MySQL database
as the back-end.
- Developed an online invention and software
disclosure system for Rice University's Technology Transfer office
using Cold Fusion with Microsoft Access as the database back-end.
This automated and streamlined the submission of new inventions
and software, moving towards a paper-less workflow solution.
- Developed a Web-based, ad-hoc report-generating
application, designed to be utilized by each of the client's major
accounts, using ASP, DHTML, and stored procedures on a SQL Server
7.0 database for a major computer manufacturer which incorporated
diverse data points from across the client’s internal databases.
- Produced a PeopleSoft to SMS Mainframe interface
utility used by a Denver, Colorado hospital. This allowed hospital
administrators to migrate key SMS personnel data into their new
PeopleSoft implementation.
- Created an Oracle script executing utility
for correcting bugs in a major software package.
- Developed an XML-file to ASP-page compiler
utility for a major health insurance agency. This allowed the
agency to leverage an existing form builder tool for the creation
of Web-enabled insurance forms.
- Assisted in the design and development
of an intranet-based field engineer asset tracking system for
a major airline computer support system using ASP on top of SQL
Server. This application allowed for convenient scheduling of
field engineer resources and tracking the workflow processes thus
entailed.
